Acupuncture is a branch of Chinese Medicine which dates back over 2,000 years and is still used alongside Western Medicine in today’s Chinese healthcare system. Ultra-fine needles are inserted into specific points along channels in which the body’s energy flows. By doing this the acupuncturist can manipulate the energy to encourage the body to regain harmony and heal itself.

Acupuncture can be beneficial in the treatment of a wide range of mental, emotional and physical disorders, and there is an increasing amount of scientific evidence to support it’s use. It is well documented that acupuncture can assist fertility treatment and smoking cessation, and NICE, an independent body advising the NHS, recommends it’s use in non-specific lower back pain. Acupuncture can however be beneficial in the treatment of many more health probelms.
